Seeing Clearly: Dealing with Historic Windows in Cleveland Park
Wednesday, October 16, 6:30 – 7:45pm
Cleveland Park Library
Owning a home in a historic district has its challenges, especially when it comes to upkeep. If you own an older house in an historic district, you may be wondering what your repair options are. In this panel discussion, an expert group of architects, architectural historians, and preservationists will cover such topics as repairing vs. replacing windows, historic compatibility considerations, options for materials and energy efficiency levels, permit application requirements, and working with a contractor. Come with your questions – there will be a Q&A session with the panelists following the presentations.

Casey Trees Tree Walk with The Cleveland Park Historical Society
Sunday, October 27, 11:00am-12:30pm
Join Casey Trees and the Cleveland Park Historical Society for a tree-focused, neighborhood nature walk!
Together, we’ll identify trees as we move into fall, while also discussing climate change, plant philosophy, and how if you have the right tree, it can make any space better for you and the community. While this will be an easy-paced walk, please note there may be muddy or uneven surfaces. No prior tree ID experience or books will be needed.
