Driveway widening and retaining wall reconstruction
Owner: Lydia Arnold, Lydia.Arnold@me.com, 202-258-8457
Agent: G. David Steinbraker, Steinbraker@verizon.net, 202-277-6008
The proposal includes widening the driveway from 9.6′ to 13.8′ feet and rebuilding the existing walls to accommodate the new driveway width. The existing stone posts at the entrance to the driveway would be rebuilt in their current location. The driveway would be repaved with concrete pavers in a color similar to that of the stone walls. The project would not impinge on public space and the existing curb cut would not change.
The ARC supports the proposal but recommends that the driveway walls be retained at their current position for a minimum length of 10-20 feet behind the posts before widening to the proposed new width.
The ARC has no objection to the proposed dark gray concrete pavers shown at the meeting.
