3506 Idaho Avenue, N.W.
Owner:   Reid
Agent:  Andrew Brownfield, Solar City

The proposal involves installing solar panels on the roof.  The installation would be attached to the roof parapets on either side and would not be visible from the front of the house.  With the absence of existing trees, the side view would allow 6 inches of the brackets to be visible.  The house is approximately 35 feet tall.

The neighbors have been contacted.   There has been no response from the neighbors and the ARC form is still outstanding.

The ARC had no objection to the proposal as presented.

The motion passed 7-0.

Parkway Apartments, 3220 Connecticut Avenue, N.W.
Agent:  John K Edward, Bonstra Haresign Architects and Carissa Barry, Daro Management Services

The proposal involves replacing the basement level windows and adding a doorway facing the interior courtyard.  Resident access to the interior courtyard would be created and several private patios with walls and privacy screening would be created in the interior courtyard.  The driveway on the north side of the building would be cleaned up, and several private patios and new doors would be added with the dumpsters being moved closer to the street.

The neighbors have been contacted.  There has been no response from the neighbors and the ARC form is still outstanding.

The ARC has no objection to the window replacement and door creation.   However, the ARC is concerned about the placement of the dumpsters and the impact on the neighbors to the north and west and requests additional information on the location and possible screening of the dumpsters.

The motion passed 7-0.
